Sea Dog Blatter: Bristol and the World Cup loot

June 6, 2011
Captain Blatter

Captain Blatter

Sepp Blatters speech at the Fifa congress?

The captain of his corrupt and leaky bathtub, steering the rust bucket HQ of world football on the stormy seas, pointing the rudderless bucket full of contraband to any port that will cough up the goods.

Captain Blatter knows his rigging alright, like how to rig an election in a storm so that he’s the only one standing.

So which city council poured 500,000 groats or more into the dodgy bid for the dodgy World Cup prize as part of a new dodgy stadium application?

The Jolly Roger bid underwritten by Bristol’s  ruling lib-dems, trumpeted by the business leader rent-a mob,  committed to pouring gold into the already bulging tax-free Swiss Blatter chests.

Shame that the Fifa mob dumped on the City and its moneymakers from a great height.

Good that Blatter is continuing the tradition that made Bristol privateers feared across the oceans. Piracy and robbery on the high seas is alive and kicking (a ball)

In Feb, 09 there was a live interview with Blatter on Radio Five Live, talking about the 2018 World Cup. Call it back and see if you draw the same conclusion as myself that the WC was not coming our way. Our confidence always surprised me. My conclusion was that somebody knew something that was not privy to the rest of us, but I was wrong. As in most cases, ambition blinds one to reality.

    I remember it well.
Captain Blatter of the Fifa’s Revenge told us landlubbers that we had a good bid.
The Bristol Bid team slurped it up like a welcome draught of grog.
Long John Lansdown on his treasure Island and the council house mob made the usual meal out of it.
But the brave citizens defending their community against the piracy could tell that Blatter was walking his plank.

Blatter and Lansdown make very good pirates, discuss, (or get banned)

For the not so bright, what does that mean?
